Organized Training under TSP in Nandurbar

 

       

ICAR-DOGR, Rajgurunagar organized two days training programmes on “Commercial cultivation of onion and garlic” under the TSP scheme in collaboration with KVK, Nandurbar on 15-16 Nov, 2019. About 115 tribal farmers from various villages of Nandurbar attended the programme. First day training organized at Sai Kripa Shetkari Gat, Shravani and second day training organized at Kalyani Mahila Bachat Gat, Palipada in Nandurbar. Mr. Rajendra Dahtonde, Head, KVK, Nandurbar formally welcomed the participants and elaborated the theme of the training programme and briefed about KVK activities to the farmers. Dr. Amar Jeet Gupta, Nodal Officer (TSP) explained TSP activities and performance from last five years in Nandurbar. He also delivered lectures on commercial cultivation of onion and garlic. Dr. R.M. Patil, SMS (Hort.) highlighted the raising of healthy seedlings in onion. Most of the tribal farmers now cultivating onion and garlic at commercial level. According to data available from Maharashtra state, production and productivity of onion in Nandurbar has been increased by 91% and 38%, respectively after initiation of TSP by ICAR-DOGR in Nandurbar.
