A training programme on “Onion Cultivation, Seed Production and Processing” was organized by ICAR-Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research for 20 farmers of District Solapur (Maharashtra). The programme was of 3 days from December 18-20, 2024. It was sponsored by Marathwada Navnirman Lokayat, Ambejogai (Maharashtra). Different topics related to onion cultivation, seed production and processing were covered in the training programme. Lectures were delivered by scientists of ICAR-DOGR on production technology, improved varieties, nursery management, cultivation practices, fertilizer management, micro-irrigation, pest and disease management, abiotic stress management, harvesting, storage, post-harvest management, processing, seed production, role of SHGs in increasing socio-economic status of farmers, etc. topics. The various agro-practices were demonstrated to farmers at ICAR-DOGR farm. Farmers were exposed to different agro-innovative techniques. The queries of the farmers were answered by the scientists of ICSAR-DOGR in interactive session. The farmers also expressed their views on the occasion. In valedictory function, certificates were distributed to the participants by Dr. Ram Dutta, In-charge Director. Dr. Dutta appreciated the training organizers for smooth conduction of training and motivated farmers to apply advance technology learnt from ICAR-DOGR in their fields. The programme ended with the vote of thanks presented by Dr. S. S. Gadge, Principal Scientist (Agricultural Extension). The training programme was coordinated by Dr. S. S.
