ICAR-DOGR Celebrated 21st Foundation Day 

 

 

ICAR- Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research, Rajgurunagar, Pune has celebrated its 21st Foundation Day on 18th June, 2018. Apart from the present and past DOGR staff, the programme was attended by around 70 farmers from ICAR-DOGR adopted villages under Tribal Sub Plan and Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav schemes. The Chief Guest of this function was Dr K. E. Lawande, Ex-Director, ICAR-DOGR & Ex-Vice Chancellor, BSKKV, Dapoli and the guests of honour on this occasion were Dr P. S. Naik, Ex-Director, ICAR- Indian Institute of Vegetable Sciences, Varanasi; Dr S. D. Sawant, Director, ICAR- National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune; and Dr. K. V. Prasad, Director, ICAR- Directorate of Floriculture Research, Pune. Dr Major Singh, Director, ICAR- Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research, Rajgurunagar, Pune welcomed the guests and briefed ICAR-DOGR achievements. The Chief Guest and guests of honour appreciated the work being done by the Directorate and congratulated the staff. On this occasion, ten progressive farmers were felicitated for their achievements in onion and garlic production. Retired employees of the Directorate were also felicitated for their services to the Directorate. Plants of wild onion Allium tuberosum were distributed among all the progressive farmers and detail importance of these plants was given by Dr Vijay Mahajan. Packets of onion seeds were also distributed among the farmers’ groups on this occasion. The programme was compered by Dr Rajiv Kale and vote of thanks was expressed by Dr Vijay Mahajan at the end of the programme.
