Training and Distribution of Agricultural Inputs under TSP and SCSP

 

 

ICAR-Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research, Rajgurunagar, Pune organized a training programme on “Onion Production Technology” under TSP and SCSP at Terungan of District Pune on 3 August, 2021. About 75 farmers belonging to scheduled tribe and scheduled caste from Ambegaon region participated in the programme.

Shri. Dattatyaya Lohokare, group leader welcomed the participants and briefed about the training programme. Dr. Shailendra Gadge, Senior Scientist & Nodal Officer, SCSP informed about the activities carried out under SCSP and delivered a lecture on advance onion production technology developed by ICAR-DOGR. Dr. Amar Jeet Gupta, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer, TSP elaborated the work done by ICAR-DOGR in different regions under TSP and properly informed to the farmers about use of all the agricultural inputs given to them.

On the occasion, ICAR-DOGR distributed agricultural inputs like fertilizers, weedicides, fungicides, insecticides, as well as sprayers, spades, shovels, etc., tools to 28 groups of scheduled tribe farmers and 19 scheduled caste farmers from different villages of Ambegaon taluka of Pune district. Onion seed of variety Bhima Super was already distributed to them in the month of June 2021. Seed and other agricultural inputs were given free of cost to the farmers. Farmers were expressed satisfaction with the cultivation of onion in the region and benefits gained under TSP and SCSP. The programme was ended by vote of thanks expressed by Shri. Maruti Lohokare. Shri. Dipak Chimte, Sarpanch, Nigdale village, Smt. Bhimabai Lohokare, Shri. Kantaram Lohokare, progressive farmers, Shri. Dilip Mundharikar, PS to Director, Shri. H. S. Gawali, Technical Assistant and Shri. Vishal Gurav, Technical Assistant, ICAR-DOGR were present on the occasion. All the coronavirus pandemic norms were followed at the time of conduction of training and input distribution to the farmers.
