Training organized for tribal farmers of Junnar 

 

 

Training on “Construction of low cost onion storage structure to improve bulb storability of onion” was organized on 10th April, 2018 for fourteen tribal farmers of Sangharsh Adiwasi Bhoje Sevabhavi Sanstha, Padali, Junnar through Project Officer, Integrated Tribal Development Project, Ghodegaon, Pune. The farmers were trained for construction of low cost onion storage structure developed by ICAR-DOGR. Dr. A.J. Gupta highlighted the low cost onion storage structure to improve bulb storability whereas Dr. Kalyani Gorrepati, Scientist (PHT) explained about construction of storage structure made by bamboo. Dr. A Thangasamy, Scientist (Soil Science) explained the performance of night soil manure on onion cultivation. Mr. H. S. Gawali arranged the field visit at ICAR-DOGR. Tribal farmers expressed their happiness after training and are ready to start own business regarding construction of low cost onion storage structure to improve bulb storability of onion at commercial level.
