One day training program on “Scientific cultivation of onion” under TSP was organized by ICAR-Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research, Rajgurunagar, Pune at village, Terungan (near Bhima Shankar), Ambegaon taluka of Pune (MS) on 5th March 2025. The Tribal Sub-Plan aims to establish productive assets for Scheduled Tribes, fostering sustainable growth through increased agricultural output and income generation. This initiative also seeks to significantly reduce poverty and unemployment. A total of 60 selected tribal farmers from different parts of Ambegaon taluka of Pune participated in the training program. Dr. Amar Jeet Gupta, Principal Scientist (Hort.) & Nodal Officer (TSP) briefed about the TSP activities and improved varieties of onion as well as delivered a lecture on production technology of onion and garlic. He highlighted about impact of TSP on livelihood improvement of tribal farmers including benefits gained by the farmers from this scheme. Dr. S. S. Gadge, Principal Scientist (Agril. Extension) delivered lecture on nursery management and seed production in onion. Dr. Dattatray Gawade, SMS (Plant Protection), KVK, Narayangaon elaborated the farmers about the need of training program and gave a lecture on management of insects-pests in onion. The monitoring of demonstration plots at the farmer fields was done by the ICAR-DOGR team. Farmers including Shri Vijay Adhari, Shri Kantaram Lohkare and Shri Datta Lohkare expressed their satisfaction and appreciated ICAR-DOGR for its exceptional support to tribal farmers. Program ended with the vote of thanks presented by Shri Vijay Adhari.
The three days training-cum-awareness program on “Commercial Cultivation of Onion and Garlic” under TSP was organized by ICAR-Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research, Rajgurunagar, Pune for 62 farmers from Ambegaon and Khed talukas of Pune (MS) during 10-12 March 2025. The training program was coordinated by Dr. Amar Jeet Gupta, Principal Scientist (Hort.) & Nodal Officer (TSP). The Tribal Sub-Plan intends to create productive assets in favour of Scheduled Tribes to sustain the growth which is projected to results from growing agriculture production and income generation opportunities as well as a significant reduction in poverty and unemployment. Dr. V. Mahajan, Director, ICAR-DOGR welcomed the participants and briefed about the production and productivity status of onion and garlic. Dr. Amar Jeet Gupta, Principal Scientist summarized the TSP activities as well as delivered a lecture on improved varieties and production technology of onion and garlic. Expert scientists from ICAR-DOGR provided insights on various aspects, including quality planting materials, nursery management, micro-irrigation systems, insect-pest and disease management, pesticide safety handling protocols, post-harvest management and food processing techniques for onion and garlic. The cultivation practices of onion and garlic were also demonstrated to farmers at ICAR-DOGR fields. Farmers were also given the exposure to seed production plots and different storage structures. To assist the farmers, training kits and study materials were provided during training program. The queries of the farmers were answered by the scientists of ICAR-DOGR in interactive lecture sessions. On the third day of training program, an interactive session with scientists was held followed by the distribution of certificates by the Director and Nodal Officer (TSP). The farmers actively expressed their gratitude for arrangement of informative and effective training program. The program ended with the vote of thanks presented by Dr. S. S. Gadge, Principal Scientist (Agril. Extension).

Teh Govt. of India under teh Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI) resolution authorized Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) as ‘Designated Agency’ to receive written complaints from general public on any allegation of corruption and misuse of office by any employee of teh Central Government or any other Corporation, Company, Society etc. owned or controlled by Central Government. Under teh PIDPI resolution, teh identity of teh complainant is kept secret and complainant is protected from victimization for making such complaints.
